LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/27/12 -- Mule Films has begun principal photography of It's Not You, It's Me and is shooting over three weeks entirely in Los Angeles County in California. The film is written and directed by Nathan Ives under his production banner, Mule Films. The edgy relationship comedy is developed and produced by Marie Rose of Indie Rose Films, a former story development executive at Disney and MGM. "I am very much looking forward to working with this extraordinary cast and seeing their chemistry against the backdrop of Los Angeles," said Director Nathan Ives. "Shooting so close to home is a dream come true. It's the perfect setting, creatively, for this story to play out."
It's Not You, It's Me is toplined by film and television stars Joelle Carter (JUSTIFIED, HIGH FIDELITY) as Carrie and Ross McCall (WHITE COLLAR, GREEN STREET HOOLIGANS) as Dave alongside Vivica A. Fox (KILL BILL: VOL. 1, INDEPENDENCE DAY, CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM), Beth Littleford (CRAZY, STUPID, LOVE., THE DAILY SHOW), Erick Avari (THE MUMMY, PLANET OF THE APES) and Maggie Wheeler (FRIENDS, CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM, EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND) as well as emerging talents Daniel Berson, Jake Elliott, Alina Foley, Darin Heames, Ary Katz, Abby Miller, Amber Seyer, Alex Petrovitch, Gabriel Voss, and Jessica York.
It's Not You, It's Me tells the story of Dave, a 30-something commitment-phobe, who breaks up with the love of his life thanks to conflicting advice from his outrageous, inner voices. Under pressure, he says the only thing he can think of to soften the blow, "It's not you, it's me." Unfortunately, his near perfect, now ex-girlfriend Carrie has her own inner voices and they're pushing her to move on with the next love of her life. Dave has to come to quickly come to terms with the fact that there may be some truth to his break-up line before she becomes, "the one that got away."
"After the intense development process on this project, I can't wait for the pages to come to life on the screen thanks to the quality of our cast, expert Director of Photography, Kenneth Stipe, and the visual looks created especially for the film by Production Designer, Mercedes Younger," said Creative Development Executive and Producer Marie Rose.
Producer and Unit Production Manager Mark Heidelberger stated, "Shooting an independent film in Los Angeles allows the production to have access to top-notch professional crews and locations that clearly capture the west coast lifestyle all while working seamlessly and efficiently to produce the best picture possible."
The film is being associate produced by Kerith Lemon, a former non-traditional marketing executive at MTV Networks. The Director of Photography is Kenneth Stipe and Production Designer is Mercedes Younger of Merce Designs.
