ROBLOX Game Conference 2012 to Gather Developers, Players, Tech Enthusiasts for Annual EventTickets for Conference Now on Sale; Thousands of Attendees Expected for Event (June 12, 2012)
SAN MATEO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 06/12/12 -- ROBLOX, a leading user-generated gaming site that makes players the architects of their own 3D worlds, has announced that tickets are now on sale for ROBLOX Game Conference 2012, to be held on Saturday, July 14 from 9:00am-5:00pm at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA. The annual event brings together game developers, players of all ages, tech enthusiasts and anyone interested in learning more about ROBLOX for a full day of events, presentations, gaming and education.
In 2011, ROBLOX experienced significant growth -- players created 5.4 million games and logged over 250 million hours of game-play -- and held a successful game conference that reached capacity at 1000 attendees. ROBLOX Game Conference 2012 expects to draw upwards of 1500 people. Attendees of this year's event will have the opportunity to talk with leading game developers and popular ROBLOX veterans; preview not-yet-released features and advancements; improve their coding and game-development skills with the help of ROBLOX's experts; and share ideas.
"We're excited to bring together such a diverse group of game lovers to trade ideas and discuss the future of ROBLOX," said David Baszucki, CEO. "ROBLOX is about giving players the tools and freedom to put their imaginations into action, and this conference presents the perfect opportunity to take the ROBLOX experience offline and bring it to life."
ROBLOX's robust platform creates an environment where users can develop programming, game-design and entrepreneurial skills, and play games developed by others. In addition to creating and playing games, players learn to form and manage groups, earn virtual profits, and market their creations to the community.
ROBLOX Game Conference 2012 attendees are encouraged to bring laptops so they can join participatory events. The preliminary program for the conference includes:
- CEO and Founder David Baszucki's Vision of ROBLOX in 2020
- ROBLOX Hall of Fame 2012
- ROBLOX Demos and New Product Sneak Peeks
- R&D Computer Lab (test new features and give live feedback)
- Programming Sessions (developer-hosted sessions and challenges)
- User-feedback Sessions
- Forums and Groups Meetup Zones
- Presentations by ROBLOX staff
Those interested in attending the event can purchase tickets -- priced $10.00 -- or vendor, exhibitor, and group booths online at http://roblox.eventbrite.com. Please check for updates to the agenda on the ROBLOX Blog.
